We’re Approaching 2 Amazing Years! (And throwing a party to celebrate)

grave-label

2017. Wowwhat a year! Our staff grew. Our beers grew. Our fans grew. I am very thankful for the team we have been able to put together and what they are all able to bring to our growing company. As we approach our two-year anniversary, I think back over the past year and how great it was. So, in honor of this milestone I wanted to make a beer that embodied our 2017. We carried the name “Grave Concerns” over from last year, but that is the only part of the beer that is the same. For the 2017 release of Grave Concerns we brewed a special Russian Imperial Stout. This big, bold, and dark stout is all you will need for the Buffalo winter. We aged Spot Coffee Espresso beans on Lockhouse Distillery’s Revolution Coffee Liqueur and then aged those beans for a month on the beer along with dark oak to imbue a deep character. The beer itself is a big and thick Russian Imperial Stout brewed on our pilot system over a 14 hour brew day.

Along with the new beer we, created a new label. Following our alchemy heritage we dug up an old symbol to properly represent the beer. During the transmutation cycle in alchemy, base materials must be destroyed to be transformed. Basically, without death there can be no life. So we chose the symbol for death and decay. So you will need to get here early on December 12th if you want to get your hands on a special 22 ounce bottle of 2017 Grave Concerns and drink in the darkness.
