Zest is a dynamic acoustic duo featuring Josh Peets on Guitar & Vocals, and Alyssa Wainwright on Violin. Both Josh and Alyssa are seasoned Buffalo musicians with deep roots in the local music scene. Josh is best known for his work as the drummer in Underground Funk, Pappy Stardust, Seafox, and currently Ponder. Alyssa is best known for her extensive work with PA Line and Harvey Brice & the Unbroken. Both played with Jungle Steve & the Gypsophelias from 2016-2018.
The two are now re-entering the music scene, as Zest, bringing a hybrid style of alternative R&B/Soul infused with folk and funk. The duo draws influence from a variety of bands and genres, including but not limited to The Wood Brothers, Bill Withers, Vulfpeck, Pink Floyd & The Beatles.
The playlist is currently a wide-ranging array of covers of music from the last 70 years, along with a few originals. The duo continues to write more and more original music as time progresses.
